Story
I have been a keen supporter of Leukaemia Busters since meeting David and Bee, almost 24 years ago, following the death of my younger son, Christopher aged 12, from childhood leukaemia. David and Bee had suffered the same tragic loss of their son Simon and I soon realised how driven they were, and are, to find a cure for this devastating disease.
Walking is now a passion of mine. Last summer, over a couple of beers, a friend and I realised that we both wanted to walk the Northern Coast to Coast path. And do it soon while we can! Our 190 mile challenge begins at St Bees on the west coast of Cumbria on Tuesday 10th May and finishes at Robin Hood’s Bay on the east coast of Yorkshire on Monday 23rd May.
So this is an opportunity to raise money for a worthwhile research charity that is close to my heart as well as achieving a personal ambition.
