Gary's Tour de EuroNorth stage one page

Tour de EuroNorth stage one · 7 June 2019
I am cycling from Cambridge to 's-Hertengebosch in the Netherlands from 7th - 10th June as part of a team from Dassault Systemes, covering 330 miles. This is to raise money for Cancer Research UK. I choose Cancer Research UK because cancer is a devastating disease that affects far too many people, and the research will develop better and more effective treatments and find ways of diagnosing it earlier. Over the last 40 years, 10-year survival rates have doubled to 50%, so every pound raised will make a difference.
An extract from the website summarising what Cancer Research UK does:
"We want survival in the UK to be among the best in the world. We’re focusing our efforts in four key areas – working to help prevent cancer, diagnose it earlier, develop new treatments and optimise current treatments by personalising them and making them even more effective.
We’ll continue to support research into all types of cancer and across all age groups. And we’re keeping our focus on understanding the biology of cancer so we can use this vital knowledge to save more lives.
We’re increasing our research in key areas such as early diagnosis, and hard-to-treat cancers including lung, pancreatic, oesophageal cancers and brain tumours.
We’re developing new tests, surgery and radiotherapy techniques, and cancer drugs. We want to personalise prevention, screening and treatment and bring benefits to patients sooner." [https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-us/our-organisation/our-strategy-to-beat-cancer-sooner]
