Inches Walking and Rambling Memorial Group was set up in memory of Ian Coombes, who lost his life in November 2012 after a short but fierce battle with Cancer. To date there are some forty eight members of the group, all meeting up at various times throughout the year in order to celebrate his colorful and exciting short life.

On September 13th 2014, the group will embark upon a twenty four hour relay walk up and down Pen-Y-Fan which is the highest peak in South Wales at 2907 ft. The challenge will be attempted by twelve members of Inches W.A.R.M. Group, all of whom are on the wrong side of forty five years of age, they will walk in teams of three continuously throughout the challenge. At any one time, there will always be two teams of walkers on the mountain to ensure that the continuous challenge is met.
