Story
Firstly thanks for coming this far and reading my just giving page.
Tiny Lives is a charity that helps to care for premature and sick newborn babies, their mothers and families in the Special Care Baby Unit of the Newcastle Neonatal Service based in the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle.
The inspiration - A close friends son was born premature in June 2016 after seeing first hand the care that Kyle and his parents, Claire and Marc received I had no hesitation with a charity when the Tough Mudder challenge took shape.
The challenge - The Hard Bit! - Don't worry, I've got this!
I will be running 18 Tough Mudder events over 6 months. That'll be approximately 180 miles of mud and 360 obstacles that will push my comfort zone to the limit. For anyone who doesn't know what a Tough Mudder event is like there are loads of videos and information on their site - https://toughmudder.co.uk/
The motivation - If you could spare a couple of quid or even the cost of a pint at the weekend. It will all mount up and keep this wonderful charity with funds!
Finally a few words from Kyle's parents, From a parents point of view having a premature baby was the most traumatic and terrifying experience of our lives but the amazing help and support from the dedicated teams at Newcastle's RVI and Tiny Lives helped get us through it. Kyle was born 17 weeks early at only 23+6 weeks, weighing a tiny 650g (1lb 7oz). He spent the first 15 weeks of his life in the special care baby unit where we as parents witnessed the invaluable help and support that Tiny Lives provide to the unit. Not only do they provide support to the babies and families but also provide essential lifesaving equipment and staff.
Thanks for your time.
Muddy updates to follow!
