Story

I'll be doing the Coast to coast bike ride from Whitehaven in Cumbria to Tynemouth in august,  its 145 miles over 3 days. Im doing this to raise money for Motor Neurons Disease Awareness, in memory of Adam Peacock, a school friend who tragically lost his battle to this horrendous debilitating disease back in November 2012. Adam was a great guy who was loved and cherished by all his friends and family, he showed strength and courage to the very end and didn't deserve the hand he was dealt. I couldnt, and still cant get my head round what Adam had to go through and this really makes me realise how lucky we are to have our health and how much we take it for granted, but also how quickly life can make a nasty U turn, and in the blink of an eye shatter every dream you have ever had.

About 2 years prior to Adams diagnosis, I witnessed the same horrible disease take over the life of a brother of very close friend of mine and ultimately do exactly the same to him. Again a very strong, fit and healthy man, John was a Royal Highland Fusilier who was a part of the parachute display team when he was diagnosed, again in the prime of his life with everything to live for, taken to soon by this evil disease.

Theres no cure for MND and it can effect any adult at any age, all we can do is raise awareness and get our hands in our deep pockets and raise as much cash as possible, to continue the ongoing research and work into hopefully one day finding a cure....

In the memory of Adam Peacock and John Mikkelsen lets raise some money for the MND Association, any amount will make a difference and be greatly appreciated!!! I've not ridden a peddle bike properly since I  was 16....I'm 35 now so 145 miles going to be tough!!!!!

Thanks and all the best Gary x
