Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am seeking your sponsorship to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Last year, Cycling UK in partnership with the British Pilgrimage Trust and some other charitable bodies, launched the Cathedrals Cycle Route challenge. The challenge is to cycle a route of some 2,000 miles linking all 42 Anglican cathedrals in England.
When I first read about the ride, it seemed like a ‘fun thing to do’ after the Covid pandemic passed. Apart from deciding that it would probably be best to do the ride during May, I never made any plans.
As the weeks passed, the only part of my planning and preparation which progressed before Easter was to decide that I should start riding on Sunday, 1 May. That date is less than a week away so I am now scrambling to service my bicycle, study the route in more detail and to book some accommodation. There remains a lot to be done in the next few days.
I'm intending to do the ride unsupported and to stay in B&Bs each night. I didn't fancy camping every night and having to carry even more kit. I'm aiming to complete the ride by 25 May or thereabouts. I'll keep you informed of my progress (or lack of it) during the coming few weeks. If you would like to join me for some or all of the ride please let me know. You can see my intended route at Cathedrals Cycle Route challenge | Cycling UK.
Your financial support for Alzheimer’s Research UK would be very much appreciated.
