Story
On the 16th June 2018 Nigel Arbury and his son Daniel will be undertaking 'The Wall' Challenge which is ran annually by the Company Rat Race Adventures. The Challenge consists of travelling on foot the entire length of the ancient remains of Roman Emperor Hadrian's Wall which runs from Carlisle Castle to Newcastle. The distance is officially 69 miles. Why? I hear you ask......
My Wife Emma has suffered with Crohn's disease since she was 15. She is now 33. For 18 years this horrendous disease has caused her untold amounts of pain and upset.
She has had 2 major bowel operations resulting in large amounts of her small and large intestine being removed. She has had an abdominal fistula - very nasty (Google it!) which nearly resulted in a colostomy bag or worse!
The side effects from all the different drugs have caused severe blistering all over her body, Osteoporosis, Raynaud's disease in her hands and feet and all the other effects that come with prolonged use of prescription drugs.
All this time she has remained strong and keeps her weakest times for when she and I are alone. She continues to be an amazing Mother to our 2 children (3 if you include me!) and puts on a brave face every single day.
There are over 115,000 people in the UK alone that suffer with Crohn's disease and I want to help to try and find a cure to give a new lease of life to so many people, men, women and children.
The chance of a cure is very real and so close, Please, give as much you can. Any amount will be greatly appreciated.
Visit the MAP Vaccine facebook page or http://crohnsmapvaccine.com/ for all the information you need and to see just how close we are to a cure!!
Love to you all.
Garrie and Nigel.
