Story
Welcome and thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Wikipedia says, "John o' Groats to Lands End is the traversal of the whole length of the island of Great Britain between two extremities; in the northeast and southwest... and takes most cyclists ten to fourteen days." As we need to fit this into May half term, we are aiming to complete the challenge in an ambitious 8 days. The ride will combine a sense of adventure, a recently found love of road cycling, and an opportunity to raise money for a great charity - Macmillan Cancer Support.
Our team of 4 will take on the challenge covering 935 miles, with the longest day being a 135 mile ride through Scotland.
The route will be: John o' Groats to Inverness (121 miles); Inverness to Kinross (135 miles); Kinross to Carlisle (126 miles); Carlisle to Manchester (127 miles); Manchester to Birmingham (100 miles); Birmingham to Wells (117 miles); Wells to Tintagel nr. Port Isaac (127 miles); Tintagel to Lands End (82 miles). A total of 935 miles.
And a bit about Macmillan - donations make up 98% of their income. Their goal is to reach and improve the lives of anyone facing cancer. Your donation will allow Macmillan to be there.
I'd love to raise a £pound a mile. Possible donations: 10p per mile = £93.50; 5p per mile = £46.75, 2p per mile = £18.70; 1p per mile = £9.35!
Thank you for your support. Dave.
