Story
Here at Garforth Medical Practice we are taking on one of our biggest challenges yet!
Following one of the toughest years we have faced, we have decided to take on The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and aim to complete this in 12 hours on 11th September 2021. We will be starting the day at 4:00am and travelling to North Yorkshire ready for the incline of Ingleborough at 6:00am. We hope to complete the challenge by 6:00pm.
We would like to raise as much money as possible for the local charity - Garforth NET.
Garforth NET have helped us endlessly throughout the pandemic by offering support to vulnerable patients including dropping off food parcels, collecting and delivering prescriptions to those who were shielding/isolating, completing welfare calls etc.
Taken from Garforth NETs webpage, here is what they've been up to the last 12 months!
4482 food parcels delivered
351 individual bespoke shopping trips carried out
12 people having end of life supported by a member of the NET team

700 jigsaw puzzles taken to people
1800 NHS leaflets delivered
2000 Keeping well at home leaflets delivered
1000 cream teas delivered (and eaten!)
1500 Christmas goody bags delivered
