Myself and Mike Witek will be climbing Mount Rainier at the end of June 2015.

This summer we will push outside of our comfort zone crossing ice crevasses and traversing challenging glacial terrain on one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world. Mount Rainier has one of the most prominent peaks in the United States, hence we plan to digest these amazing views as we achieve the following:

1. 17,982’ (5480m) of total elevation gain and loss
   
2. 21 hours on our feet
   
3. 45-55 lbs of weight potentially in our pack (pack weights do decrease for summit day)
   
4. 40,000+ steps up and down
   
5. 2/3 roughly the amount of oxygen available to us at the summit versus sea level.
   
6. 36 hours in which to do all this
   

The Wigan & Leigh Hospice took amazing care of my father and brought him comfort when facing terminal cancer. This is the hardest point that every human will have to face, yet at this time the wonderful staff brought my father constant care, genuine conversation, dignity and pain relief in an enlightening and mindful environment. Please help them continue to take end-of-life care of over 1,000 people every year.
