Story

We are taking part in this to raise money in memory of my Grandad Eddie. He was deaf my whole life until he had a revolutionising operation to have a cochlear implant. This changed his life massively and gave him a new found confidence. He heard my nans voice for the first time in over 50 years. He heard his Daughters voice, and he heard my voice for the very first time…. I didn’t sound like I should in his words 😂😂

My Grandad Eddie was a huge dog lover and would always play with any dog he seen. He would love the idea of this walk. 🐶 🐕 🏃

We miss him dearly but his sound and light will shine through in our lives forever💙❤️💙❤️

The Great British Dog Walk is about meeting people who also love their dogs, finding out what hearing dogs do, having fun with our furry friends, plus a free bandana! If you are walking, we would love for you or your dog to be sponsored. If not, we would still love for you to sponsor a friend, canine or human. To do this, just click the Start Fundraising button.Or, if you would prefer just to make a single donation, click the Donate button. We receive no government funding so any donation, however large or small, goes towards helping deaf people reconnect with life.
