Story
A close friend commented on the unsustainability of my lifestyle, before I knew it he was securing donation pledges and I was suddenly and somewhat reluctantly signed up to run the Cardiff Half.
This has reminded me that I am am lucky enough to have the choice to improve my health myself. Some people don't have that luxury. They rely on medicine to do that for them. Without money raised from charities such as Cancer Research Wales, the vital research for treatments cannot take place.
For me the build up is more important than the day itself and I am reluctantly putting the miles in, although they seem a lot more challenging then they used to be.
There are many personal stories of people affected by Cancer, we have to keep raising funds for research into new treatments. I’m delighted that on the day I will be able to play a small part in raising money for Cancer Research Wales.
