On March 2nd of this year, I lost my father in law after a blood clot travelled from his leg to his lung causing a fatal blockage to his heart. The heartache that this has caused our family and friends is hard to put into words and I'm asking those who knew Mick and what he stood for, to kindly sponsor me to help raise funds for a cause that can help prevent fit and healthy people needlessly die every day.

 Thrombosis remains a major cause of death in the UK yet many people have little or no understanding about the causes and effects of thrombosis, and how it can be prevented. Someone dies worldwide form VTE (Venous thromboembolism) every 6 seconds with the majority of deaths wholly preventable if people knew the signs and symptoms to look for.

This is the 2nd year running  I have asked for peoples generosity when fundraising for a cause I care about, and I intend for it to be the last. I know that times are hard, and people need to be careful in how they spend their hard earned money, but please if you can, donate in the name of my father in law Mick Mcguigan and those who have been so badly affected by his death.
