So, why do a marathon? One of the most common questions I have been asked! I entered the London Marathon ballot as a 'why not?' moment, and was very surprised to gain a place. I now need some motivation.

2nd Stamford Scouts has been part of my life since I was 8. Starting as a Cub and then became the leader of my old cub pack at 24. Now I'm 42 and I'm still active with the group just a more support role and my children are now part of the group.

The current HQ building is, well, old. And its not able to support the needs and demands of the Scouts and community. We are unable to adapt it for wheelchairs or less able persons.

We need a completely new HQ.

This is why I'm running the London Marathon, to help raise funds for my Scout group. To give 2nd Stamford Scout group and the wider community a new hub with which to take Scouting forward.
