Story
On July 2nd the gap personnel group’s Senior Management Team will be taking on ‘The Lakes Biggest and Longest Challenge’ – a challenge that is almost a complete crossing of the Lake District National Park from South to North, involving canoeing, cycling and walking. An overall distance of 71km will be travelled with 33km of canoeing, 21km of cycling and 17km mountaineering across a 24 hour period.
The Children's Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) is based at the beautiful Booth Bank Farm, a 17th Century farmhouse set in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. They provide a variety of programmes for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over the North West.
CAFT was chosen as the charity of choice for this year’s challenge following the recent treatment that Brenden Rowley of the gap personnel group’s dedicated driving division, Driving Force, received while he attended the trust for two days in August 2015. Brenden’s son, Cameron was diagnosed with Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumour and the family enjoyed a two night stay at CAFT to help in Cameron’s rehabilitation.
