Story

Dementia is a horrendous disease that many of us, unfortunately, have experience with. My wonderful Grandma suffered from it and it was horrible and scary for her and gut-wrenching for us to see. She passed away at the end of last year after a multi-year battle, she is missed dearly by all of my family but I am also glad she does not have to suffer any more. There are 850,000 people in the UK currently living with dementia with more diagnosed every day, we want to do something about that.

I'm joining my good friends from Green Team in gaming and streaming for 24 hours this Friday to raise money for The Alzheimer's Society. We will be playing a variety of games for 24 hours straight and would be delighted if you would support us.

By organising your own gaming events, or playing a marathon of your favourite game whilst fundraising, you have the power to help make dementia history. Whether the money you raise is spent funding the researchers in the lab in their search for a cure or spent on making sure everyone living with dementia today gets the support that they need, its YOU that can help finally put an end to dementia. Join us today in saying Game Over to dementia.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
