Story
Dementia is a horrendous disease that many of us, unfortunately, have experience with.
From Jake: My wonderful Grandma suffered from it and it was horrible and scary for her and gut-wrenching for us to see. She passed away at the end of 2019 after a multi-year battle, she is missed dearly by all of my family but I am also glad she does not have to suffer any more.
From Emer: My Amazing Grandad passed away in May 2020 after battling Dementia for several years. We miss him immensely, especially during the difficult times we are experiencing with Covid, where we weren’t able to say goodbye. By doing this I hope this will cherish his memory, and help put an end to Dementia.
There are 850,000 people in the UK currently living with dementia with more diagnosed every day, we want to do something about that.
We are joining our good friends from Green Team in gaming and streaming for 24 hours this Saturday to raise money for The Alzheimer's Society. We will be playing a variety of games for 24 hours straight and would be delighted if you would support us.
We did a similar event last year and had so much fun while raising a load of money. Charities have been devastated by the pandemic and really do need your support now more than ever.
By organising your own gaming events, or playing a marathon of your favourite game whilst fundraising, you have the power to help make dementia history. Whether the money you raise is spent funding the researchers in the lab in their search for a cure or spent on making sure everyone living with dementia today gets the support that they need, it's YOU that can help finally put an end to dementia. Join us today in saying Game Over to dementia.
