Story

I’ve been supporting the NSPCC for the last 10 years, including 7 as a volunteer Childline counsellor at the weekends. Childline has played an instrumental part in millions of young people's lives for the last 30 years through our listening service because it has always been free and confidential and available at any time of day or night. There is no bigger motivation for me to help than the children and young people who demonstrate such resilience, maturity and strength.

Most of my fundraising will be around the theme reconnecting with people, to do things with them that they are passionate about and for me to give more background around what the NSPCC is about.

So far, the activities ideas have included running a workshop at a disadvantaged school, cleaning donkey poop, helping a nervous speaker prepare for their big talk and helping a procrastinating friend to finally clear their loft!

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.
