Story
Gallipoli Company Hampshire and Isle of Wight Army Cadet Force are Making Individual Crochet Squares to make a Lockdown Blanket, we are showing that we can work together to achieve something even though we are all locked down individually.
All members of the Company are making 10 cm x 10 cm squares which will then be stitched together to make a 2.4m x 1.5m Blanket, there will be a total of 360 individual squares.
We are looking for donations for each square we make with the money going direct to the Local NHS Trust Charitable fund, the blanket will the be auctioned off once completed to raise further funds for the NHS.
We are asking for just £2 per square this would raise £720. if people would like to donate more it would be greatly received.
The Isle of Wight is the only NHS Trust in the country that provides Acute (hospital-based), Ambulance, Community and Mental Health services. They are a major employer and a vital part of the Island’s social fabric, with more than 3,200 staff supporting a population of well over 140,000 people. Thanks to the kind and generous support of our community, they are able to provide grants that are used to improve staff and patient wellbeing. They also buy specialist equipment, and pay for projects and training to enhance people's experience of NHS services.
