Story
On 8 October, along with some buddies from my British Military Fitness classes I completed The Major Series, which was an assault course designed by 'The Major'.
Thank you all for sponsoring me. With your help we have raised £330 for The Hospice in the Weald!
I had a great time, not quite knowing what to expect it was hard to set a pace but at 1.40 mins I was quite happy to be coming across the finish line in 456th place out of 712 competitors having run approximately 11km, running (and in all honesty walking) up and down some steep hills, wading through bogs up to my chest, under cargo nets (conveniently placed over lots of mud) and jumping over hay stacks and various other obstacles!
The first to finish did so in 54 mins (what a show off!) and the last across the line 2 hours and 35 mins (well done!). I am now tempted to try again in March to see if I can better my time!
The Hospice In the Weald is based in Pembury in Kent and serves a community of approximately 300,000 over an area of 400 square miles of West Kent and East Sussex, providing palliative care and advice and clinical support for people with life limiting illness, their family and the bereaved.
Many thanks once again for your support.
