"Something special for those madder-than-most cyclists who enjoy an uphill challenge" - leithhilloctopus.org
"Seriously, this is a major test for the legs and the stamina" - Cycling Weekly
We all know that the true meaning of Make a Difference Month is making your colleagues suffer through physical exercise - and what better way than guilt-tripping them into attempting the little-known Leith Hill Octopus cycling challenge, which takes in eight different ascents of the highest hill in Surrey?
The official route is 93km, involves 1716 meters of climbing, and takes most people between four and six hours to complete. But nearly all of those people were doing it in the summer, not at the very end of November when it will be cold, windy and almost certainly pouring with rain!
