Story
Saturday 30th April 2022 -A St Hilda's staff relay from Liverpool to Wales with a climb up Moel Famau to finish.
1 in 2 of us will get cancer, and when it hits, it's totally devastating, and I know because it happened to me. When it did, I was supported by an army of family, friends and colleagues, I could not have asked for more.
Trust me, when your life is rudely interrupted by a cancer diagnosis on Wednesday afternoon like mine was, you're going to need help, and lots of it. You're going to need help from people who know how to help, and those people are at Sunflowers. This is a local charity providing a range of services for cancer patients and their families.
I'm proud to be from Liverpool because it's a city that looks after its own. And I'm proud to work at St Hilda's because I can't even begin to describe the support they gave me during my illness. I wanted our school challenge to support a charity that's based in our city, one that looks after our families and loved ones, and one that does not receive any funding from government. Its funding comes from our community and that's why over 40 staff from St Hilda's are invested in this challenge.
Thanks for your support, we’re going to need it…
