Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The staff at Futureworks are taking part in an exercise challenge to raise money for Mind, in memory of Mark Clayton.
Mark was a third year student studying BA (Hons) Music Production. Unfortunately, we lost Mark to Suicide in August 2020, he was just 46 years old.
Instead of donating flowers for the funeral, we have decided to fundraise for Mind, a charity chosen by Mark's family.
Our thoughts are with Marks family and friends at this difficult time.
What is the fundraising event?
12 staff members are taking part in an exercise challenge that has a target of 5000km which is approx 3106 miles. Due to COVID we have decided that we will take part in this challenge individually at home, the target can be achieved by walking, running, rowing or cycling either outdoors or in the gym and we will all motivate and work together to achieve the target of 5000km together as a team.
We are starting this event on Monday 2nd November 2020
Why are we doing this?
Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling.
No-one should have to face a mental health problem alone. There are charities out there, like Mind, that listen and give the support and advice that people need.
Mind are a charity that provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
When you're experiencing a mental health problem, supportive and reliable information can change your life. Mind charity empower people to understand their condition and the choices available to them.

How could your donations help?
£20 could run the online peer support community Elefriends for an hour, helping people connect with others and feel less alone. 10,000 people joined Elefriends community between March and June 2020. So, let’s help keep this service running so they can help as many people as possible!
£40 could help the Infoline answer calls, providing someone with vital support and information about help available for them
£50 could help Mind campaign for better mental health services from the Government, ensuring people get the support they need, as soon as they need it
£100 could pay the cost of one of Minds Infoline or Legal Line advisors for a whole day
Every year Mind answer over 100,000 calls, texts and emails and due to the global pandemic, are now answering more and longer calls. They’re remained operational throughout lockdown and have responded to over 35,000 calls, texts and chats.
Any donations made contribute towards ensuring that there is somebody on the other end of the phone, in local communities and campaigning for better services and support.
Now more than ever charities like Mind need our support. The coronavirus pandemic is having a huge impact on our mental health and we need to help charities who are providing mental health
support at this crucial time.
The staff at Futureworks would like to thank everyone in advance for your donations, it’s very much appreciated.
We will post updates/pictures of our journey!
Thank you again and best wishes
