Story
Back in 2015 my son Zeke was diagnosed with leukaemia, he had treatment for just over 3 years and was given the all clear in December 2018. During that time Young Lives vs Cancer were a massive help to me and Zeke and I’ve been raising money as a thank you ever since.
After 3 half marathons and one tough mudder my body has basically given up but my thumbs are still in pretty good nick which is why I have chosen a marathon stream challenge this time! According to google one of my all time favourite games, The Last of Us should take around 14-15 hours to complete so that is the challenge I am setting myself, to finish it in one sitting!
For many young cancer patients, watching their favourite streamer is a welcome escape from everything going on around them.I'm taking on Player vs Cancer to show my support for children and young people with cancer. Please tune in and donate! How your support helps: - £10 could pay towards our social care teams giving families the strength to face everything cancer throws at them.- £38 could pay for a family to stay overnight in a Home from Home, providing free, comfortable accommodation close to treatment centres.- £50 could help fund vital resources and information for young people who are diagnosed, to help them and their families understand and navigate their diagnosis and its impact.- £100 could fund a financial grant to help families facing money worries can pay for basics like food and petrol to get to and from treatment.Gaming online with friends meant I could show them I was still there, and I was still me. - Jozef, diagnosed with leukaemia at 13.
