We Take in stray and abandoned dogs to find then forever homes

Story

Between April 9th and April 30th, three of Manchester Roller Derby's Furies will be raising money for Manchester and Cheshire Dogs Homes and The Pankhurst Trust (read more about both below) by taking on the 3 Peaks Challenge...at home!

Over the course of 21 days, Debistator, Nyte Owl, and Roxie Dart will be attempting to climb the equivalent of Snowdon, Scafell Pike, and Ben Nevis on their own staircases. Each of us have calculated the number of ascents needed to total the 3064m ascended by 3 Peaks climbers on the recommended routes, split as follows: Snowdon (723m via the Pyg Track)Scafell Pike (989m on the Wasdell Head route)Ben Nevis (1352m on the Pony Track)

As well as keeping our legs ready to skate while we're stuck indoors, we're aiming to raise money for two charities. You can choose who you'd like to donate to by selecting the relevant page below, but we ask that you consider splitting any donation 50/50 between both. :)MANCHESTER AND CHESHIRE DOGS HOMES - Manchester Roller Derby's Charity of the Year 2020, these guys care for over 3,000 stray and unwanted dogs every year. At the moment, they're unable to rehome dogs due to Covid-19, so let's send some money their way to keep the pups in food, treats, and toys until they can find their forever homes!THE PANKHURST TRUST - Incorporating Manchester Women's Aid, the trust has two aims: to continue to share the story of the suffragettes and to continue to inspire the fight for gender equality, and to provide confidential support to women suffering domestic violence and abuse. With incidences of domestic violence surging during lockdown, their work is vital. We recognise that this is a difficult time for many people, financially, so please only donate if you feel able to. If you can, please consider sponsoring us via both charity pages. We'll be posting updates here, and you can follow the action on our FB and Twitter (@MRDFuries).THANK YOU!#wearefurious #onwednesdayswestayhome
