I did it - walked it from the start in 6hr 12mins.
it's not a race of course, but for those interested i came 33,507th out of 35,680 runners.

The boots in the picture travelled 3,000km over the last 11 months so won't be coming on the marathon - instead i've bought some proper walking trainers [out of my own money!]
