Literacy Pirates is a wonderful after-school programme, led by teachers, that offers one to one and small group attention from trained volunteers, giving children aged 9-12 the confidence to unfurl their sails.By welcoming them into their cosy and creative spaces, publishing their work in the real world, and celebrating everything they do, LP develops their literacy, confidence and perseverance.

I've been volunteering in the Hackney ship once a week. The kids are amazing - it's such a fun environment and a fantastic volunteer opportunity.
