Story
On Monday 20th June, Fulwell Club Captain Susanna Gillett, Secretary Murray Cook and members Karen Francis and Paul Barrett will be attempting to complete 100 holes of golf in one day to support this year’s Captain’s Charity Richmond Borough Mind.
Richmond Borough Mind is a community charity providing support for people of all ages who are experiencing mental health challenges, anxiety, or isolation.
Post pandemic and amidst the cost-of-living crisis and war in Ukraine, charities like Richmond Borough Mind are not only finding their financial support under more pressure, but their services are more likely to be called on than ever.
There is also currently unprecedented demand to support young people who are experiencing mental health challenges. Richmond Borough Mind run a variety of Youth Well Being projects in schools including free Mental Health Awareness assemblies and workshops; after-school programmes to help build resilience; and one-to-one peer mentoring support.
While Susanna, Murray, Karen and Paul are all often at their happiest on the golf course, 100 holes in one day and a 4.30am start may test their resolve! However, the sore limbs, blisters and lost golf balls will all be worth it if they can help support this fantastic local charity.
Donations of any size will be very welcome.
Thank you for your support,
Susanna, Murray, Karen and Paul x
