"I will never forget the support I received in such a difficult & painful moment of my life” food bank volunteers “nearly made me forget that I was so poor that I could not feed my kids”
Quote from local mum
Imagine losing your job, and not being able to feed your family? That’s what happened to the family above. Thankfully, after almost a year, dad found another job and the children are no longer hungry.
The foodbank gives three days of emergency food to local individuals and families who do not have enough food to eat. Visitors receive a warm welcome, hot drink and homemade snack, and a listening ear.
The Hammersmith and Fulham Food banks are committed to ensuring that visitors are able to find lasting solutions to the underlying reasons for referral into the Foodbank. We do this through signposting and providing professional advice services.
During the 2017/18 financial year, we provided the equivalent of more than 100,000 meals to local people in crisis - as well as toiletries, nappies, baby food, clothing, furnishings and so much more.
We also run Holiday Clubs targeting the most vulnerable of
families, cooking and budgeting courses, a job club, and so much more.
