Story
WELL, WE DID IT! NOT QUITE AS FAST AS WE'D HOPED, BUT WE CROSSED THE FINISHING LINE TOGETHER AT LAKE YAMANAKA AT 6.38PM ON SATURDAY EVENING - JUST IN TIME TO SEE THE SUN SETTING BEHIND FUJI-SAN, AND 33 HRS 38 MINS AFTER SETTING OFF FROM ODAWARA THE PREVIOUS MORNING. WE CAME 43RD OUT OF 175 STARTING TEAMS, AND OUT OF ONLY 91 WHO FINISHED WITH ALL 4 TEAM MEMBERS. NOT BAD GIVEN OUR COMBINED AGE OF 136....
THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO SPONSORED US - WE COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT YOU. FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T, WE CAN ACCEPT DONATIONS UP TILL 18 JULY, SO THERE'S STILL PLENTY OF TIME! SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR SUPPORT TEAM, TRACY, JAMES AND BILL, WHO KEPT US GOING THROUGH THE NIGHT WITH HOT SOUP, RICE PUDDING AND FIGHTING TALK....

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. Now you're here we hope you will sponsor us online! Only 10 days or so to go....
The 4 of us, all working at the British Embassy in Tokyo, are taking part in the very first Oxfam Trailwalker Japan trek from 18-20 May 2007. Our challenge is to cover 100km (62 miles) within 48 hours, walking day and night through the mountainous terrain (amid bears, boars and snakes...) around Mount Fuji. The challenging trail takes us over no fewer than seven 1000m+ (3250ft) peaks. We do the trek as a team, passing all checkpoints and finishing together - and probably never wanting to see one another again. We hope to finish within 30 hours. You can see more about the event, trail route etc at http://trailwalker.jp/info/info-e.html
All money received will go to support Oxfam's efforts around the world to overcome poverty and injustice.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Oxfam will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor us now! Many thanks for your support.
