Story
I am proud to be part of the MIND Mental Health Charity ice hockey team for a second year! We will be competing at the Allstars charity ice hockey weekend in July 2022 held in Cardiff, Wales.
8 teams will battle it out off the ice to be the top fundraisers before taking to the ice for a festival of Hockey weekend.
I am unfortunate to know first hand the crippling effects of depression and anxiety, both through personal experiences and the effects it has had on others. I have lost friends to suicide, not even knowing that they were suffering. I have also seen first hand how support systems, when available, and the opportunity to talk can change someones outlook completely. I want to find every way possible to extend this opportunity to people who are suffering whether they are open about it or not and I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to do this as part of a collective team.
Any support and donations provided are greatly appreciated, but more importantly please do not suffer in silence. Contact MIND, your local GP or even me if you feel more comfortable with that and need some support!
Its ok to not be ok!
