Story
For years the country of Palestine has been suffering from a humanitarian crisis, which is still ongoing to this day. Almost 70% of the population lacks basic food security and access to safe drinking water. Sanitation is another issue faced by the people of Palestine, due to hygiene facilities being damaged by the rise in hostilities. Furthermore, the insufficient number of health supplies has overall increased the susceptibility to outbreaks of disease, with a shortage of 40% in medications. The recurring airstrikes and violence will only worsen the situation in Palestine.
The University of Manchester’s ‘Friends of Palestine’ have come together to organise a winter charity hike, whereby all donations will go to Action For Humanity’s ‘Palestine Emergency’ charity. The hike will take place in the beautiful Lake district, however if you are unable to make it we still encourage you to consider donating and sharing our page.
It is stated in the Quran that, ‘O believers, give of what We have provided for you ’ (2:254). So be amongst those whose charitable actions make a difference for those in need, and be rewarded for your generosity in this life and the next.
Jazakallah Khair :)
