Story
As some of you are aware, I applied for a marathon place after a lot of red wine never thinking I'd actually get in! I'm now finding myself facing a 26 mile run...... Please can you give generously to remind me why I am doing possibly the daftest thing ever and to also remind me to never drink red wine and go online again!
I've decided to run for the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund who are an excellent charity who support serving and former RAF personnel and their dependents. They are also responsible for maintaining the London RAF Memorial at Runnymede. My Great-Uncle, Sergeant Ian Ross Elliot, was a Beaufighter Pilot in the Second World War when he was shot down over the North Sea in 1943. He was only 20 years old. As he has no known grave, he is listed on the memorial at Runnymede.
The company I work for are very generous and for every £1 I raise they will give £2 to the RAF Benevolent Fund. So every little counts!
