Story

Thanks for supporting my fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support. Last month, a friend of mine was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer. When she shared the news, Laura wrote about the profound grief she's felt since her diagnosis but also the moments of sheer love and joy, including dancing round her kitchen with her boyfriend.

This image of carefree dancing amidst the darkness really inspired me and so I'm taking part in Macmillan's August Dance Challenge. Every day throughout August, my family and I are going to joyfully dance for twenty minutes to raise money for Macmillan, a brilliant charity which helps people with cancer. I'll be posting dancing updates at https://www.instagram.com/freyasampsonauthor/ so you can head there to see me embarrass myself with my terrible dance moves!

Laura, who is the author of the hilarious and uplifting novel Single Bald Female, has written a beautiful blog post about her recent diagnosis, exactly ten years after she was first diagnosed with breast cancer.
