Story
I am running the Great North Run 2015 in memory of my boyfriend Aidan Brunger who was killed this summer along with his friend Neil Dalton whilst on a medical placement in Borneo.
I saw Aidan train with such dedication for the Great North Run 2013 and I hope to have half as much determination as he did.
Aidan and I were both registered on the Anthony Nolan bone marrow register. All it takes is a small saliva sample to be potentially matched for life saving treatment. I know Aidan was hoping he would one day be a match for someone.
Anthony Nolan saves lives by:
Matching individuals willing to donate their blood stem cells or bone marrow to people who desperately need lifesaving transplants.
Educating young people about the lifesaving difference they can make by joining the register.
Conducting groundbreaking research to improve the success rates of transplants and improve the lives of all people with blood cancer.
Supporting, advising and providing information for people with blood cancer and their families.
Thank you everyone who has supported me so far and I know I will need more of it when I realise the magnitude of this run!
