I am running the Great North Run 2015 in memory of my boyfriend Aidan Brunger who was killed this summer along with his friend Neil Dalton whilst on a medical placement in Borneo. 

I saw Aidan train with such dedication for the Great North Run 2013 and I hope to have half as much determination as he did. 

Aidan and I were both registered on the Anthony Nolan bone marrow register. All it takes is a small saliva sample to be potentially matched for life saving treatment. I know Aidan was hoping he would one day be a match for someone. 

Anthony Nolan saves lives by: 

• Matching individuals willing to donate their blood stem cells or bone marrow to people who desperately need lifesaving transplants. 

• Educating young people about the lifesaving difference they can make by joining the register. 

• Conducting groundbreaking research to improve the success rates of transplants and improve the lives of all people with blood cancer. 

• Supporting, advising and providing information for people with blood cancer and their families.
