For those who have known me for a little while will know that in the last 2 years have have gone to being a complete couch potato to a race addict spending a good part of my weekends running, crawling, cycling or swimming somewhere in the UK.

At the back end of last year, Simon my racing mate casually suggested: what about climbing Kilimanjaro? And here we are... We will be doing the climb at the beginning of November with Sam the 3rd musketeer... Provided that we don't get taken by altitute sickness, we will reach the summit on the 5th of November.

We recently completed the 3 Peaks challenges with other friends from Oxford (thanks Nicky, Michelle and Ian) to get a taste of what it would be like. We also have a busy schedule of races between now and then to keep us fit and ready for the mighty Kili.... so you'll hear more from me.

 

I have chosen to raise money for Cancer Research UK as I have been affected in the last couple of years with close member of my family as well as friends my age falling prey of this disease. Cancer will strike in 1 in 3 people - Fact. Without the work of Cancer Research UK and other medical and research Institutes around the world, many of the people  who have gone through this ordeal would not be here to tell the tale. Unfortunately, not every one struck by cancer will get through and a lot more work needs to be done.
