We fundraise to enable young people to become International Volunteers

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. My name is Freddy and I'm taking my A Levels this academic year. I am fundraising for Project Trust so that I can spend a year volunteering in Senegal after my exams. During my year in Senegal, I will be able to help a local community in educational projects and/or development programmes through working with an NGO. Volunteering abroad will give me invaluable life skills and will help me become self-confident and independent. It will also broaden my horizons and help me become a responsible global citizen.

My main fundraiser is running the circumference of Dakar, a distance of 86km, with my best friend Sam. We will be running it in 5km chunks and will post our progress here. Sam is very fit so he'll be fine. Not so sure about me!

I am also doing lots of other fundraising activities over the coming months, such as dog walking, baby-sitting, car washing, a car boot sale, a bake sale at school, and so on. Any amount you can donate would be very much appreciated as I have a big target to reach! Thank you in advance if you can help me reach it.

RCN SC025668
Project Trust is a Scottish-registered educational charity providing young people in the UK and Europe with international volunteering experiences. Project Trust Volunteers are based in projects in Africa, Asia or Latin America for 12 or 8 months supporting teaching or youth development work. Empowering global citizens Project Trust’s aim is to empower generations of young people to act as responsible and active global citizens. We support ethical, long-term volunteering experiences which enable the Volunteers to make a meaningful contribution to their host community whilst building knowledge, skills and cultural intelligence. Project Trust works with a small group of Volunteers each year, allowing the staff team to know each individual’s skills and interests. This allows us to place Volunteers in projects where they can get the most out of the experience and enables our staff to provide tailored support to each young person. Project Trust strives to be open to all young people with the desire, motivation and aptitude required to benefit from a long-term, ethical, volunteering placement
