Fundraising for The Change Foundation
Dear All,
Thank you for taking the time to read this and hopefully sponsor me. I am taking part in this challenge to honour a great friend Graeme Porteous who was tragically killed in an avalanche last year and also to raise money for The Change Foundation with utilises sport to change young people's attitudes.
Anybody who has played sport will appreciate the enormous benefits sport brings in terms of friendships, camaraderie, fun, and a sense of direction. The Change Foundation uses primarily rugby and cricket to engage young people at the margins of society to engage with life and hopefully establish a direction that keeps them out of jail and crime.
I have played rugby all my life and I simply cannot imagine life without the thrill and excitement of a game of rugby. I have made an enormous number of friends through sport and it is a great joy to me to be still involved with United Hospitals and Imperial Medicals Rugby. I have also been lucky enough to travel the world through rugby and am now at 46 weeks of my life spent on rugby tour!! I hope you take a moment to reflect on your own sporting greatness and realise just how good you once were
Graeme Porteous was one of life's "Bon Viveurs" who embodied everything that is great about sport. The rivalry , the banter, the unfailing optimism associated with the hopelessness of supporting Scotland!! It is a great honour to ride in his name and to give myself the challenge of riding nearly 100 miles a day for 5 days which is going to be challenge when anything over 30 miles seems a very long way.
Please give generously in support of The Change Foundation and thank you in advance.
