Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

An 8 year old boy local to the village of Lifton in Devon has made it his mission to raise as much money as he can for the charity ‘crisis’ during November after being really affected seeing the homeless on the streets of London…

When the family were in London Fraser was really upset to see so many homeless people on the streets with signs saying how hungry they were. It upset him a lot so he decided to help those that he saw by first of all giving them the snacks he had packed. Then he filled his backpack up each day with fruit and biscuits to give to those he saw. He wanted to be able to help more homeless people so he saw a charity that supports the homeless which was advertised on the tube. Throughout November he is going to try to raise as much money as he can for ‘Crisis’. He suggested a bake sale so every weekend in November he will bake brownies if anyone is interested. He has the same recipe as mummy has and always makes better batches.

Starting this challenge Fraser was excited about the prospect of raising £30 as part of the ‘crisis at Christmas appeal which is enough for a homeless person to have shelter over the Christmas period, hot meals and a Christmas lunch, support to get off the streets as well as access to mental health and well being programmes. 2 weeks into his fundraising mission and he’s raised nearly £400 which he’s worked out as helping 13 homeless people over the Christmas period so far. This created such a wonderful smile and sense of accomplishment on Fraser’s little face. We are very grateful to everyone who has supported his by buying his charity Brownies. He has also had very kind donations from local businesses. The fantastic strawberry fields in Lifton which is 2 minutes from Fraser’s house has kindly donated trays of their free range eggs and his local Tesco in Launceston has donated some or the other ingredients as well as prizes for Fraser’s chocolate tombola he is holding at his primary school Christmas fair. He’s still determined to raise more money throughout the month and plans to complete a sponsored silence at school on the last Friday in November at school.
