Story
We're doing 20 triathlons in 20 days.
Me and G are raising cash for Treetops Hospice to go towards their at home service which cares for people with cancer, motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis.
This is all in memory of the bravest lady I knew, Jackie, who sadly passed away in June 2019 after a long battle with cancer. She was touched by the work that they do and it is a testament to her kind nature and the abilities of the nurse from the hospice that after only one nights support she wanted any donations for her funeral to go directly to them.
In Jackie's memory, we've come up with the daft idea to do a sprint triathlon a day for the next twenty days, starting with this Sunday’s Brighton Triathlon.
(750m swim / 5k run / 20k bike) x 20.
The aim will be to do each sprint triathlon in bulk, but some days we might have to split the sports up (swim and run in the morning and a bike ride at night etc) the distances are 750m swim, 20k cycling and a 5k run. Any East London friends who wish to join for a run, swim or cycle we would love the company! (any days where a run, bike or swim is missed will be added on to the next day)
Treetops Hospice Care provides nursing care and emotional support for adults and their families in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. All of their services are provided free of charge and include confidential Support and Information from diagnosis onwards.
Even though you'd say we were daft, each one of these 20 are for you Jackie x
