As some of you may be aware, over the last couple of years we have both started running both for fun and to raise money for the charities closest to our hearts. This year, we’re taking things to a new level and flying to Athens to take on the original route on the 2500-year anniversary of the first marathon. The course is said to be one of the more arduous routes and will take us along the hilly coast from the town of Marathon to Athens, which is where the name comes from.

 The Marie Curie nurses provide care for terminally ill patients in the final stages both at home and in hospices and they also offer support to families. Both of us have personally experienced what it means to have a Marie Curie nurse there when it matters most and this is why we have chosen to support their work. There is a link at the bottom of the page with more information about exactly how donations are used and how you will be helping.

This certainly won’t be easy but compared with wedding planning it should be a breeze! We’re excited about taking on this huge challenge and hopefully our friends and family will show their support by way of a donation to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
