What exactly is Frank doing?
Crazy I know and not typically the kind of thing I do at all, but the cause is so worthy and the task at hand is a once in a lifetime challenge!
No...I'm not growing a moustache, or sitting in a freezer for a week or skipping for 24 hours...
On February 27th I'm trekking from Lukla to Base Camp Everest on a 14 day expedition to a height of 5,300m (or 17,000ft !)
You may be thinking - "yes, but you're not climbing to the top" and this is true, however:
1) The trek in itself if very grueling. On average I will be trekking over scree and snow for 10 hours each day for the full 14 days. Carrying a 20kg backpack all at extreme altitudes..
2) I am paying £1300 of my own money to cover all trip costs - it is not a free be holiday paid for with your contributions.
3) How many people do you know that have been to Mount Everest Base Camp, never mind climbed it ? ! This is hard !!
Donating through this site is simple. Voluntary Service Overseas will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
