The time has come for me to finally step up my game and complete my first marathon. My goal is to complete a marathon within a year of commencing running and my time is quickly running out.
Would I be ready after 11 months?..........................We will find out on the 2nd October at the Loch Ness Marathon.
There has been a bit of soul searching to decide if I am ready for it. However, with lots of encouragement and some telling me I couldn't make it, this has made me even more determined.
This is where you come in.................
It took some time to select a charity as there are so many ones in need of support. However, I finally decided on Myeloma UK.
Myeloma most commonly occurs in people later in their life i.e. over the age of 60. However, some myeloma patients can be younger. Myeloma is slightly more common in men than in women and it is the second most common type of blood cancer. There are about 4,000 new cases per year in the UK and myeloma represents approximately 1% of all cancers and about 15% of all blood cancers. Blood cancers as a group make up about 20% of all cancers.
I hope you can help share my enthusiasm with a view of providing support for this charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
