We provide specialist hospice care to adults, young people, children & babies
Story
Hey Guys,
Hope you are all well!
I will be running the Great North Run in this year. The date is the 20th of September 2009. I have ran 6 times in the past 10 years but due to an operation on my hand my training has only recently started. So this year I will be facing my biggest personal challenge. For those whom may be watching the event in person or on the telly my number is 51253. I will be starting in zone B.
I will be running in support of St Oswald’s hospice. For those of you whom have known me for a while may know that this organization is close to my and my family’s heart. In 2001 I lost my father Frank to cancer. The support and service received from St Oswald’s was a great help to us all. It is only later you really appreciate what unconditional professional help you receive.
St Oswald’s provides hospice care for North and East adults and children. Their annual running costs now exceed £6 million, of which £4.5 million must be raised through voluntary giving. They rely on the support and generosity of the local community. No charge is made for any of the hospice’s services, ensuring their expert care is available to everyone.
I will also be running in memory of ;
- ( My Granny)
- Vena ( My Aunt)
- Aunty Babs
- Uncle Sonney
- David Macpherson ( My Uncle)
- Colin Malcolm Seymour ( My friend and ex running partner)
- Tom Simpson ( Fraser’s dad from the Joiners Arms, aka the Mayor of Morpeth)
I am hoping to raise around £500. I have already received £130 from my colleagues at work. A big thank you! Please feel free to give as little or as much as you can afford.
