Story
My Mum was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 8 years ago. It took a long time for her to get the diagnosis as her symptoms were so varied. No one really knows what causes MS and I didn't really know what the diagnosis would mean for my Mum. While her physical abilities have changed a lot, her positive attitude, her need to be a mother figure and a friend to everyone and her stubbornness (classic Italian woman!) mean that she keeps going despite the daily challenges that her condition presents.
Every year, Mum organises an MS Cake Break day to raise money for this great cause, and every year I get to stuff my face! This year, I thought I would actually do something to help to support the Guratsky's fundraising efforts so I'm running the Manchester 10k (I will also be eating lots of cake at the annual Cake Break as well)! I've never done a 10k before but I'm excited for the challenge! Please give what you can to support the MS Society - they do so much amazing work in helping those with this life-changing condition and in researching better treatments.
Thank you for your generosity and wish me luck for Race Day!
