This Christmas we have decided to raise money to place 2 Pulse Oximetry machines on the labour and maternity unit at Wigan hospital, where Francis was born. Each Pulse Oximetry Machine costs £725 and as Wigan is in need of two, we are hoping to raise as much as we can towards our target.
Pulse Oximetry machines are really important as they can detect heart conditions in newborns that otherwise may go undiagnosed. By ensuring that these machines are on maternity wards it means that all babies can have a short, 2 minute test to find out if they potentially have a life threatening heart defect before being discharged.
If you would usually buy either myself, Olly or Francis a Christmas present, or make a donation in Francis’ memory for his anniversary we kindly ask that you would instead make a donation to our fundraiser.
Thank you to everyone for your enduring kindness and for keeping Francis’ memory and legacy alive.
