Story
Each June, prior to the Covid-19 outbreak, hundreds of cyclists would head out on their bikes to take part in the Help for Heroes Big Battlefield Bike Ride. This has been the flagship event in the H4H fundraising calendar and for the second year running, this has had to be cancelled. The impact of these cancellations, together with hundreds of other fundraising events, has had a devastating effect on the desperately needed funds of this amazing charity.
Instead of heading to the foreign fields of battle, this year I will be cycling the 500 mile route of the North Coast of Scotland in just 6 days. I'm told its pretty hilly and day one alone will see us ascend the steepest climb in the UK; The Applecross Pass (2,054 feet/626 meters). Gulp! What have I let myself in for?
So if you can, please donate to show your support.
"Every day, men and women have to leave their career in the Armed Forces as a result of physical or psychological wounds. Your fundraising helps them recover and get on with their lives. So far we've supported more than 25,000 people and won’t stop until every veteran gets the support they deserve."
