Story
Thanks for visiting my Race for Life page.
Maybe it is the age I have reached, but I find that more and more of my friends are suffering from cancer of one type or another. There are too many to name each one, but two deserve a special mention: Helen and Barbara who both sadly passed away earlier this year. My thoughts are with Richard and Peter and their families: I know how hard it is when you lose someone you love.
A decade ago, running 5k was easy for me: in fact I did so in training several times a week. Things have changed, my body is not what it used to be, and this time it will be a real challenge to run (or at least shuffle) all the way around the course without stopping. This is going to hurt, on the day and in training in the weeks leading up to the race, so everyone please do your bit too. Please dig deep and sponsor me online - it's quick, easy and totally secure.
Events like Race for Life are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, we can unite and create a force that cancer can't ignore.
