At the age of 15 I fell ill to peritonitis. During my recovery my body fell into shock and one of the first things I experienced was hair loss. In that year I lost approximately 60-70% of my hair. At the time of losing my hair I was fortunate that I had a lot of hair to start with and I was able to be put on medication which I responded to by slowing down the hair loss and other symptoms. But I still remember the fear I felt for being different at school and the confidence I lost having my hair fall out as well as the obvious hair regrowth. During lockdown many of us were forced to not have hair cuts and that was when I decided I would take the opportunity grow my hair to be used for a wig to be donated to a child.
I was then advised that the Princess Trust have a greatest need for hair donations over 16 inches. So I persevered and I am now ready to donate at 20 inches.
I would be so grateful if anyone could donate any pennies towards helping make a wig for a child with my hair I am donating.
Thank you so much x
