Story
I'm taking part in the Farm Run and also cycling from London to Brighton to raise money for an incredible charity, the Rennie Grove Hospice and in memory of my amazing mum.
If I'm honest I hadn't realised how important hospice work was until we needed the help of one...at the end of 2017 we got the devastating news that my mum had terminal cancer. We were all in shock with no idea what this meant and how to deal with it. With the help of the Rennie Grove nurses we were able to care for her at home the entire time and feel like we always had someone to call on. The nurses visited everyday and not only helped mum but also dad and me - these people are absolute superheros!
I've told the charity, the nurses are the BEST people. I don't know how they do it everyday but I'm so glad that they do.
Words simply will never be able to express how grateful I am for the work the Rennie Grove does and I cannot stress enough how important the support they give is. They helped us through a devastating experience and continue to offer support and advice.
Rennie Grove's vision: Patients with life-limiting illness in our area can choose how and where they want to be cared for towards the end of life. We provide 24/7 responsive Hospice at Home care; a range of day services and support for all the family during the illness and through bereavement.
